Associated Newspapers to launch new title

Associated Newspapers, a wholly owned subsidiary of DMGT, has this morning announced the launch early next year of a free daily morning newspaper in London. London Metro, which has been in planning for more than a year, will be available to passengers on the London Underground.

DMGT expects that the net cost of this extension of its London publishing activities in the current financial year to September 1999 will be immaterial in Group terms. Thereafter it should make a contribution to Group profits.
