Purchase of WHY Publications Limited

Northcliffe Newspapers Group Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of DMGT, has agreed to purchase WHY Publications Limited which distributes a series of weekly advertising publications in the South Midlands region.

WHY had net assets of £3.2 million as at 30 September, 1998 and its trading profit for the year to 30 September, 1998 was £0.9 million.

The purchase price of £14.1 million will be met in cash out of DMGT's existing resources.
