Northcliffe Newspapers hits target with 18th community Web site

Northcliffe Newspapers Group Ltd has completed the roll-out of its 18 community Web sites with the launch of This Is North Scotland.

Hosted by Northcliffe titles the Press and Journal and the Evening Express, the site offers a rich variety of news, sport and business articles along with a visitors’ section and interactive features.

This Is North Scotland is the 18th and final site launched by Northcliffe Newspaper’s new media division, Northcliffe Electronic Publishing (NEP).

All NEP This Is... Web sites provide news and sport coverage; information about local leisure activities; a business directory and other business services; chat rooms; bulletin boards; on-line dating; virtual shopping facilities and general classified platforms which link to the regional press's AdHunter initiative.

NEP now plans to further develop the content and functionality of its This Is... platform to bring it closer to the 18 communities the Web sites serve.

Furthermore, with the number of page impressions now running at more than three million per month, the platform has also qualified to participate in Fletcher Research’s forthcoming UK Internet Monitor Survey this October.
