dmg world media, the exhibition and related activities' division of DMGT, is refocusing its global operations predominantly on four core market sectors as it continues to grow its business.
The division, which has spent £130 million acquiring 22 companies around the world over the past two years, is looking to develop the business further in its core business sectors:
Home Interest,
Gifts
Art & Antiques,
Sports Retailing.
As part of the refocus, dmg world media has announced that it is offering for sale its profitable Redhill operation, dmg business media. Turning over in excess of £30 million and employing around 300 staff, dmg business media is sector-focused and operates in business to business market places including Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Coatings and Finishing, Metals, Fire, Power, Glass, Marine and Electrical Retailing. It publishes more than 50 magazines, 22 directories and 38 market reports and organises some 50 exhibitions and conferences around the world.
dmg world media has built the business media division over the last five years both through acquisitions which include ERT, Asian and Middle East Electricity, and Communicate, and launches such as Helix magazine and the Electrotechnical Trade Fair. Over half of its business is generated overseas. For local market reasons in Canada and South America, dmg world media will retain its interests in Oil and Gas, and Intermodal Transport.
