Acquisition marks Middle East expansion for dmg world media

dmg world media, the exhibition and related activities' division of DMGT, has acquired the Hotel Show in Dubai, positioning the company to capitalise on the massive growth in hotel construction in the Middle East and build on its existing portfolio of events in Dubai.

Through an earn-out arrangement, the company will pay an estimated US$3.75 million (£2.6 million) for the show in three stages over the next two years, dependent on show profits from 2001 to 2003.

Following the acquisition, dmg world media now runs four major trade shows focusing on construction, interior fittings and hotel management in the Middle East, including Index, the largest show in Dubai after the Dubai International Air Show.
