dmg world media, the exhibition and related activities' division of DMGT, has acquired the Metrolina Antiques and Collectibles Fairs from GAH International Limited in Charlotte, North Carolina. This business produces twelve antiques and collectibles fairs on the Metrolina Expo grounds.
The cost is estimated at US $4 million (£2.8 million), including an initial payment of US $3 million and a further payment in 2002, based on Metrolina's profits for the year ending 31 December, 2001.
The Art & Antiques division of dmg world media produces more than a hundred antiques shows each year in Europe and the U.S., and publishes three major antiques newspapers: The Antiques Trade Gazette, The Antiques Dealer in the U.K., and AntiqueWeek in the U.S. In June 2001, dmg world media acquired International Fine Art Expositions, the Florida-based promoter of the Palm Beach International Art & Antique Fair.
