(London - 18 September 2004) The Daily Mail is the newspaper of choice for Britain's businessmen and women, according to a new survey.
In a survey sent to more than 3,000 executives across the country, when asked which daily newspaper they read, more than 23 per cent of respondents named the Daily Mail, making it the clear leader.
And when it came to Sunday papers, more than 28 per cent choose the Mail on Sunday.
The British Business Survey, carried out every two years, takes in to account 80 newspapers and business publications as well as other media.
One in six of the people polled are board directors and over 50 per cent are senior managers in their organisations.
30 per cent are senior in organisations with an annual turnover in excess of £100 million.
A Daily Mail spokesman said: "The survey shows that in the market place of newspapers, businessmen know the Mail is the best buy. The fact is that the Mail has more upmarket readers than any other newspaper."
The BBS is the leading source of marketing and media information for understanding British business men and women.
It is underwritten by the Economist, the Financial Times, Guardian Newspapers, The Telegraph Group and Times Newspapers Ltd.
