(Adelaide - 31 October 2003) DMGT is pleased to announce that early this morning, DMG Radio Australia extended its metropolitan presence in Australia, following its successful bid for the new commercial FM radio licence in Adelaide.
The cost of the winning bid was A$24 million (£10 million). The new station will broadcast on 91.9 MHz on the FM dial.
In Adelaide, DMG already operates 5AA, the AM station that is Australia's highest rating talk station.
DMG also operates the innovative and successful Nova FM stations in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth (with a 50% interest in the latter) and has a 50% interest in Brisbane's new station 97.3 FM.
The successful bid came days after international singer/songwriter Craig David launched Hot 91, DMG Radio Australia's new station for the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
