DMGT to invest in full colour on every page

The Daily Mail and General Trust announced today (Monday 14th February) that it is to begin another substantial investment in its printing facilities to provide full colour on every page of the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday and the Evening Standard.
In November 2004, Lord Rothermere, Chairman of DMGT, marked the completion of a £135m investment to upgrade its presses, which increased production capacity to print 128 page Daily Mail newspapers with 64 pages of colour and 160 page issues of The Mail on Sunday with 128 colour pages.
This next level of investment will further increase full colour availability to every page.
A spokesperson for DMGT said: “We already have the most up to date production facilities and the highest quantity of colour pages of any national newspaper in Britain. We are determined to satisfy the future needs of our readers and advertisers by continually investing in the best printing facilities available.”
The London print centre at Harmsworth Quays and the satellite print facilities of its regional group Northcliffe Newspapers are to be further upgraded.
The spokesperson added: “There is a growing demand for good quality colour from advertisers and, of course, today’s readers expect and enjoy better colour quality printing and design.”
