Ofcom publishes revised terms for Teletext's licence

Teletext Limited welcomes the publication today of the financial terms to apply to its teletext licence.
Under the new terms, Teletext’s fixed fee will fall from £1.8 million p.a. to £25,000 p.a. with effect from 1 January 2006. The percentage of qualifying revenue (i.e. that attributable to its analogue services) to be paid over will fall from 18% to 5% with effect from 1 October 2005.
Teletext estimates that its payment under the new terms for its financial year to 30 September 2006 will be around £3.5 million lower than it would have been under the previous terms. The revenue related payment is expected to reduce as digital take up increases.
