Los Angeles, CA – dmg world media and George Little Management, LLC (GLM) today announced that Chris Gowe, Vice President, Canadian Gift Shows, will assume responsibility for the California Gift Show (CGS), as of October 1, 2007. He will continue to have responsibility for the company’s four Gift trade shows in Canada; but will relocate to the Los Angeles office as of April 15, 2007 to start the transition.
“We are so pleased to have the right talent and experience within the Gift group; someone who we can promote internally to lead CGS, as it is a very important product in our Gift portfolio”, said Fred Barnes, EVP, Gift, dmg world media. “Chris has had a close working relationship with GLM for years now; so we anticipate a seamless transition as he broadens his focus to include CGS.”
“We’re delighted to have Chris taking responsibility for the California Gift Show”, said Alan Steel, Executive Vice President, George Little Management. “We’ve worked well together in Canada for the last six years and we know he’s the right person for the job.”
The portfolio of shows under Gowe’s management will include the California Gift Show and the four Canadian Gift Shows – the Vancouver Gift Show, the Alberta Gift Show, the Toronto International Gift Fair and the Montreal Gift Show.
Responsibility for the California Gift Show was previously held by Dorothy Belshaw, Senior Vice President, George Little Management (GLM); who returned to White Plains in July 2005. Belshaw maintains responsibility for the New York International Gift Fair and the Gourmet Housewares Show.
In November 2000, dmg world media and George Little Management entered a partnership which saw dmg world media acquire a 25% ownership stake and GLM assume responsibility for the management of dmg world media’s gift shows in Canada and Los Angeles. dmg world media has a current holding of 49% of GLM which will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of dmg world media no later than 2014.
