North Sydney, Australia - New products, stimulating discussions, emerging trends and innovations and elaborate product displays were featured at Form & Function 2007, Australia’s leading building and architecture event. More than 5,500* trade visitors attended the informative three day exhibition, held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, Southbank, from Thursday April 19 – 21st.
New products were a highlight of the event, and the New Product Awards recognized the most exciting and innovative products available in Australia. The awards were judged on excellence in design and manufacture, innovative features, ergonomic design, functionality, aesthetics, durability, versatility, safety features, commercial viability and environmental sensitivity.
"The New Product Award recognizes the most exciting and innovative products at the exhibition, and is highly regarded throughout the industry," said Danielle Fischer, group show manager.

Show visitors were also able to view upcoming products, services and trends from exhibitors showcasing the latest in building and construction equipment, architectural products, flooring, heating, joinery, landscaping, roofing, security, cladding, stone, bricks, pavers, concrete, doors, windows, waterproofing, sealing treatments, industry organizations and much more.
Form & Function is a collaboration with The Royal Australian Institute of Architects, and was co-located with designEX, Australia’s premier international commercial and residential design and interior architecture exhibition, and the Royal Australian Institute of Architects conference.
The 2007 event was supported by a number of key industry associations including the Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia (CCAA), the Australian Tile Council, National Precast Concrete Association Australia (NPCAA), and for the first time, the Australian Tile Council (ATC) and Sustainability Victoria, who hosted the Sustainable Products feature, a showcase of the latest and most innovative green products for the home.
Another draw card of the event was the exciting and industry focused seminar programme, the largest yet in the history of the event. Visitors were able to interact with industry leaders who kept audiences up to date with the latest innovations and trends. This included representatives from the CCAA, and NPCA and a host of local and international professionals.
Form & Function was also approved this year by Victoria Office of Fair Trading for registered building practitioners to earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points. This proved to be a popular initiative with builders given an opportunity to earn three CPD points simply by attending the event.
Form & Function is organized by the international exhibition company, dmg world media. The event is held annually and alternates between Sydney and Melbourne. designEX will return to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbor, from 10th – 12th April 2008.
