Appointment of Chief Executive of DMG Radio Australia

DMGT is pleased to announce the appointment of Cathy O'Connor as Chief Executive Officer of DMG Radio Australia (DMGRA), the radio division of DMGT, with effect from 1 October.

Cathy will succeed Paul Thompson who has decided to step down as Executive Chairman, remaining as Chairman in a non-executive capacity.

Paul Thompson started DMGRA in 1996, building it up from scratch to a national network of nine FM stations and one AM station.

Cathy O'Connor joined DMGRA as Managing Director in January 2003. She started her career in radio in 1985 in advertising sales. Her management career began at Austereo in 1991, where she was Agency Sales Manager and General Sales Manager before being appointed as General Manager of 2DAY FM and Triple M Sydney, a role she held for more than nine years.
